Towards Self-adaptation in Reconfigurable Network Nodes

چکیده
Today, computing nodes are everywhere, either visible as laptops and mobile phones or invisible as embedded devices in trains, home appliances or in the backbone of the Internet. The management of those devices becomes more and more difficult as the number of devices and the complexity of the applications increase. In order to cope with this complexity the idea of nodes with self-*1 features emerged.

Distributed Incremental Least Mean-Square for Parameter Estimation using Heterogeneous Adaptive Networks in Unreliable Measurements
Adaptive networks include a set of nodes with adaptation and learning abilities for modeling various types of self-organized and complex activities encountered in the real world. This paper presents the effect of heterogeneously distributed incremental LMS algorithm with ideal links on the quality of unknown parameter estimation. In heterogeneous adaptive networks, a fraction of the nodes, defi...
متن کاملPower-Efficient Adaptable Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless sensor networks represent a new data collection paradigm in which adaptability plays an important role. Typical sensor network scenarios involve scattering a large number of wireless nodes from an aircraft across an area of interest. The nodes then form a network through which collected data is routed to a base station. Adaptation is necessary to deal with the unpredictable network top...
متن کاملSelf-organized criticality and adaptation in discrete dynamical networks
It has been proposed that adaptation in complex systems is optimized at the critical boundary between ordered and disordered dynamical regimes. Here, we review models of evolving dynamical networks that lead to self-organization of network topology based on a local coupling between a dynamical order parameter and rewiring of network connectivity, with convergence towards criticality in the limi...
متن کاملTowards Autonomic Control of Network Topologies
The increasing scale, complexity, and interdependencies between policies and configurations of emerging networks calls for a shift from the current human-centric network management, towards more autonomic and adaptive mechanisms. Network topology represents the most fundamental network structure, and the lack of control over it has direct implications on performance, resilience, and security. T...
متن کاملA Self-Configurable Architecture on an Irregular Reconfigurable Fabric
Reconfigurable computing architectures combine the flexibility of software with the performance of custom hardware. Such architectures are of particular interest at the nanoscale level. We argue that a bottom-up self-assembled fabric of nodes will be easier and cheaper to manufacture, however, one has to make compromises with regards to the device regularity, homogeneity, and reliability. The g...
